Marketplace

Applies to: Advertisers · Optional feature — available when your network has it switched on

What this is#

The Marketplace lets you browse the network's publisher websites and their ad zones, see how much traffic each one gets, and buy exactly those placements. Two ways to buy:

  • Create Targeted Campaign — a CPM campaign aimed at the zones you picked. You bid like on any targeted campaign.
  • Request flat deal — ask for a fixed-price deal on a zone. The request goes to the network's team; once they accept it, your campaign runs at the agreed price.

It differs from the Ad Shop: in the Ad Shop you describe the audience (format, country, device) and the network picks the inventory; in the Marketplace you pick the sites and zones yourself.

The Marketplace is available on ad networks that switched it on, for advertisers with the right to run targeted or flat-rate campaigns.

When you'll use this#

  • You want your ads on specific, known sites rather than anywhere that matches your targeting.
  • You want a fixed price for a fixed placement (a flat deal).
  • You want to see which sites have the traffic for a format before you spend.

Step by step#

Find sites and zones#

  1. Open Marketplace in the advertiser menu.
  2. Narrow the list with the filters: Ad Type, Zone Type, Format, Countries, Category, Device, Operating Systems and Browser, or Search sites... by name or domain. Reset clears them.
  3. Sort the publisher sites by Sum (Views + Clicks), Views, Clicks or Name.
  4. Click a site to see its ad zones, each with its traffic.

Buy with a targeted campaign#

  1. Select one or more zones.
  2. Click Create Targeted Campaign (or Add zones to add them to a campaign).
  3. The campaign wizard opens with those zones as the target. Set your bid, budget and creatives, and launch. See Creating a Campaign.

Request a flat deal#

  1. On a zone, click Request flat deal.
  2. The campaign wizard opens in flat-deal mode: the price model is fixed (flat), you fill in the period, creatives and the price you offer.
  3. Submit. The request goes to the network's team. Until they decide, the campaign stays pending.
  4. When the request is accepted, the campaign becomes active at the agreed price. When it's rejected, the campaign is removed.
  5. Follow your requests under My flat-deal requests, where you can also Cancel a pending one.
  6. To extend a flat deal, open the campaign and add a renewal deal (date range and price), then Submit renewal. It goes to the network's team for approval like the first request.

Example#

Ravi sells online courses and wants to appear on technology blogs. In the Marketplace he filters Category Technology and Format 300×250, sorts by Views and picks three blogs with steady traffic. For two of them he selects their sidebar zones and clicks Create Targeted Campaign with a CPM bid. For the largest blog he clicks Request flat deal on its header zone to lock in a monthly price. A day later the request shows as accepted and the flat campaign starts.

Tips#

  • Check a zone's traffic before requesting a flat deal: a fixed price is only good value on a placement with steady volume.
  • Combine both: flat deals for the placements you want guaranteed, targeted campaigns for the rest.
  • Cancel a pending request you no longer need, so the team doesn't spend time on it.
