Hosted Ad Server
GoAdserver is a hosted (SaaS) ad server. We run the servers, the scaling, the updates and the security; you log in to a white-label panel on your own domain and run your ad business. This page explains how a hosted ad server compares with self-hosted software, so you can choose what fits your traffic.
What a hosted ad server is
A hosted ad server runs in the provider’s infrastructure instead of on servers you rent and maintain. You manage advertisers, publishers, campaigns and ad zones in a web panel and paste ad codes into your sites; the provider keeps the ad decisions fast, the statistics flowing and the software up to date. A self-hosted ad server is software you install and operate yourself, open-source or licensed.
Hosted or self-hosted: an honest comparison
| Hosted (SaaS) | Self-hosted | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Configure the panel and your domains | Servers, databases, installation and tuning first |
| Scaling | The provider absorbs traffic peaks | You size and add servers yourself |
| Updates and security | Included and continuous | Your team patches and upgrades |
| Control | Configuration, branding and API | Full access to code and servers |
| Cost | A subscription that grows with use | Servers plus the people who run them |
Self-hosting makes sense when you have an engineering team that wants to own every server. For most ad networks, publishers and media buyers, ad serving is the tool, not the product, and a hosted ad server lets them spend their time on traffic and clients instead.
What GoAdserver’s hosted ad server includes
- Speed at scale: ad decisions in under a millisecond, on our own server fleet in several data centers.
- Your brand: the panel, the ad-serving domains and the emails carry your name, see the white-label ad network.
- Both sides of the market: advertisers, publishers, self-serve buying, payouts and invoices in one system.
- 35+ ad formats, from banners and native to video, push and pop, see ad formats.
- RTB built in: sell to and buy from outside exchanges over OpenRTB, see RTB.
- Tracking and traffic quality: postbacks, a built-in tracker and bot filtering on every request.
- A full API for everything in the panel, plus connections for AI assistants.
You keep control
Hosted does not mean locked in a black box. You decide pricing, approvals, targeting rules and payouts; you see every statistic in real time and can export it or pull it through the API; and team members get only the rights they need. Every change is logged, so you always know who did what.
Moving to a hosted ad server
- Plan the setup with our team: the formats, pricing models and roles you need.
- Brand it: your logo, colours and domains for the panel and the ad tags.
- Bring your users: advertisers, publishers and campaigns, by hand, by import or through the API.
- Swap the ad codes on your sites and watch the statistics fill in real time.
Reliability is our job
An ad server that slows down costs money on every request, so we treat speed and uptime as the product. The ad servers run on our own fleet in several data centers, behind load balancers, and are monitored around the clock by automatic health checks that alert and react when a node, a database or a data feed misbehaves. Statistics are processed in a separate analytics cluster, so heavy reporting never slows ad delivery, and backups are kept on-site and off-site. When we ship an improvement, every customer gets it at the same time, without an upgrade project.
Frequently asked questions
Is a hosted ad server the same as a SaaS ad server?
Yes. Both mean the ad server runs in the provider’s infrastructure and you use it through a web panel and an API, paying a subscription instead of running servers.
Can I still use my own domains?
Yes. The panel, the ad-serving domains and the tracking domains can all be your own, so your clients only ever see your brand.
What happens to my data?
Your statistics, campaigns and users stay available in the panel and through the API at any time, and you can export reports whenever you need them.
