Gallery Traffic: Overview
Applies to: Publishers · Ad manager setups only, when the network has the module switched on
Gallery Traffic is an advanced module for ad manager setups: a tube owner who runs the ads on their own sites buys traffic from gallery and aggregator sites. Those partners publish your videos on their own pages, every video links back to your tube, and you pay them for the visitors they send. The module runs the whole deal for you: it hands each partner a copy of your catalogue, counts every click they send, shows each partner a different ad setup if you want, and works out what you owe them per day.
Find it under Publisher → Gallery Traffic. It is available on ad manager setups only, and only when the module is switched on; if you don't see it, ask your platform's support.
How it works#
- Your tube keeps producing its catalogue. You give the panel the address of your tube's video dump, and it keeps its own copy in sync on a schedule. It never builds a catalogue itself. See Tube Sources.
- Each partner gets their own feed. A partner pulls a copy of the catalogue from a private link. Every video link in it points at your ad-serving domain first, so the click is counted before the visitor lands on your tube. See Partner Feeds & Tracking Links.
- The visitor lands on your tube. The panel remembers which partner sent them for the rest of the visit, so you can show their traffic a different ad setup, for example calmer ads for a sensitive partner and switched-off pops for search visitors. See Ad Setups per Traffic Source.
- You pay for what arrived. A rate card says what each partner earns, per click, per 1,000 clicks, as a share of what their traffic earned you, or a guarantee combined with a share. Every day is settled per feed. See Rate Cards & What You Pay.
- Partners can check their numbers themselves. Give a partner a read-only login and they see their feeds, their traffic and what you owe them, and nothing else. See Gallery Partner Dashboard.
The four tabs#
| Tab | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Tube sources | Add the dump URL of each tube you own and see when it was last copied. |
| Partner feeds | One row per partner site: their pull link, their tracking-link settings, page links and their partner login. |
| Ad setups | Which ad zones each kind of traffic gets, including visitors who arrive without a partner link. |
| What you pay | Rate cards, the daily settlement, and the breakdown by country, device, partner and site. |
Setting it up, in order#
- Add a tube source and click Copy now. Check that Videos shows the size of your catalogue.
- Add a partner feed for the first partner. Give them a pubid and, if they run several sites, a site id. Send them the pull link.
- Add a rate card, so their traffic is priced from day one. Without one it is still counted, but shows as unpriced.
- Optional: add ad setups, and a partner login so the partner can follow their own numbers.
