Event Log

Applies to: All users · Optional feature — available when your network has it switched on; needs the matching permission on your account

What this is#

The Event Log lists every single impression, click and conversion on your ads (as advertiser) and on your ad zones (as publisher), one row per event. Each row has the time, the campaign and ad, the publisher and zone, the visitor's IP address and full user agent, the country and the device type.

It is switched on per account by your network. When it is on, events are kept for 90 days, starting from the moment it was switched on — traffic from before that cannot be shown.

When you'll use this#

  • Checking a complaint about one click or one visitor: find it by IP address and see exactly when and where it happened.
  • Comparing your own logs with ours, event by event.
  • Handing raw data to an analyst or a fraud tool as a CSV file.

Step by step#

Look at events#

  1. Open Event Log in the menu (next to Statistics).
  2. Pick From and To. Today is selected when the page opens; the oldest day you can pick is 90 days ago.
  3. Narrow down if you like: Side (as advertiser or as publisher), Event, Campaign ID, Ad ID, Zone ID, Country (two letters, e.g. NL) or IP address. Press Apply.
  4. Rows are newest first, 50 per page. Click a user agent to read it in full.

Export to CSV#

  1. Set the filters you want in the file. An export covers at most 31 days.
  2. Press Export CSV. The export is queued and runs in the background, so you can leave the page.
  3. You get a notification when it is ready. The file appears under Your exports with a Download button. It is a .csv.gz file (a compressed CSV that spreadsheet programs and most tools open after unzipping).

Options reference#

Tips#

  • The page shows a preview; for anything bigger than a few pages, use an export.
  • Exports are kept a few days (shown on the page). Download them soon after the notification.

Troubleshooting#

Symptom Likely cause Fix
No Event Log in the menu The event log is not switched on for your account. Ask your network to switch it on.
The table is empty Nothing matched, or the dates are before the log was switched on. Widen the dates and clear filters.
"You already have exports waiting" Only a few exports can wait at the same time. Wait until one has finished.
An export says it was cut off It hit the row limit. Export shorter date ranges.
Download says the export expired The file was removed after its keep period. Queue a new export.
