Gallery Traffic: Rate Cards & What You Pay
Applies to: Publishers · Ad manager setups only, when the network has the module switched on
A rate card is the deal with a partner: what you pay for the traffic they send. Every day, the panel settles each feed against the card in force on that day, next to what that same traffic earned you, so you see which partners pay for themselves.
Billing models#
| Model | You pay |
|---|---|
| per click | Billable clicks × the rate for the click's country and device. |
| per 1000 clicks | The same, per 1,000 billable clicks. |
| revenue share | A percentage of what the partner's traffic earned you on your tube. |
| floor + revenue share | A guaranteed per-click amount combined with a share: whichever is higher (the per-click amount is a guarantee), or guarantee plus a share on top. |
Billable clicks#
Every click through a partner's link is counted. Billable clicks take out two things:
- clicks the bot detection flagged as automated,
- repeats: the same visitor opening the same video within the same clock minute counts once.
Adding a rate card#
Open Publisher → Gallery Traffic → What you pay and click Add rate card.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | Your own label. |
| Applies to | One partner feed, or all partners. A card for a specific feed wins over an all-partners card. |
| You pay | The billing model. |
| From / Until | The days the card is in force. Leave Until empty for open-ended. |
| Share of what the traffic earns (%) | For revenue share and the combined model. |
| Guaranteed per click (cents) | For the combined model. |
| How the two combine / Share paid on top (%) | For the combined model. |
For per-click and per-1,000 cards, Add a rate per country and device. Leave the country empty for every country, and the device on any for every device; a single row like that is a flat rate. More specific rows win: country and device, then country, then device, then the catch-all. A rate of 0 for a market is how you stop paying for it without ending the deal. Device classes are desktop, phone, tablet, console, wearable, TV and unknown.
Changing terms: don't edit an old card. Add a new card starting today; past days keep the rate they were settled at, so last month's amounts never change under you.
No card in force: the traffic is still counted and its earnings still measured. It shows as no rate card, at a cost of 0, until you set terms.
The daily settlement#
Daily settlement shows one row per feed per day: billable clicks, ad views, That traffic earned, You pay and the Difference. Today is included and updates through the day. The last few days keep being recalculated while late traffic arrives; after that a day is final. Choose a period and a partner at the top, and Export CSV for your own bookkeeping.
Where it came from#
The second table splits the same traffic and the same money by where the visitors came from: pick two of country, device, partner and site under Break down by. What you paid is divided over the cells from the settled amounts, so the column adds up to the settlement to the cent. Days not settled yet show traffic without a cost.
