Infinite Content Feed Ads
An infinite content feed is a stream of cards under your article that keeps loading as the reader scrolls. Your own articles and native ads take turns, so the reader who reaches the end of a story finds more to read, and every few cards an ad that looks like the rest. See it live in the demo.
How the feed works
The feed is a native ad zone with one switch turned on. You paste its code under the article, where the reader runs out of text. The first page of cards appears straight away: a few of your own articles from your RSS feed, then a native ad, then more articles. When the reader scrolls near the end, the next page loads: new ads, never one that already appeared in the feed, and the next articles from your feed. It stops after the number of pages you set, or when there is nothing new left to show.
Because the feed is a native ad format, the ads use the same image, headline, text and address as your article cards, styled the same way. Each ad carries a label (“Sponsored” by default) so readers can always tell them apart.
Impressions only when an ad is seen
A feed can be long, and most readers never reach its last page. So the feed does not count an impression when an ad is loaded. It counts it when at least half of the ad’s card is on the screen. A card the reader never scrolls to is never counted, which keeps your numbers honest for advertisers and your fill rate meaningful.
Your articles between the ads
The organic cards come from your own RSS feed: a path such as /feed/ on your site, or a full address on the same site. The title, link, image and summary of each post become a card that links to the article, so the feed sends readers deeper into your site as well as to advertisers. You choose how many of your articles come before each ad (from none, for a feed of ads only, up to ten), the heading above the feed, the ad label and how many pages it loads at most.
Set it up in a few minutes
Create a native ad zone, switch on Infinite content feed, fill in your RSS feed and copy the zone code again: it now loads the feed plugin of the goCtrl ad tag. The zone’s rows and columns set how many ads one page asks for. Every native campaign that can run on the zone fills the feed, so advertisers need no new creatives. Step-by-step settings are in the native ad zones guide.
Who it is for
The feed suits sites with articles people read to the end: news, blogs, guides, reviews and community sites. It adds inventory below the fold without adding a single banner to your layout. If you run a network or sell your own inventory, it is one more format you can offer to publishers and advertisers from the same publisher ad server.
