Connect an AI Assistant to Your GoAdserver Admin Panel
For the people who run a GoAdserver ad network. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, ChatPilot or any other MCP client to your admin panel with an admin API key. The assistant then answers questions about your whole network — advertisers, publishers, campaigns, ad zones, stats, finance — limited to the scopes on that key and to your own admin rights.
Advertisers and publishers who want to connect their own account use the customer connection instead: see How to connect an AI assistant.
What you need
- AI assistant connections (MCP) switched on for your platform. If the option in step 1 is missing from your API Keys screen, ask GoAdserver support to switch it on.
- API access on your admin profile (a superadmin ticks Enable API access there).
- The admin rights for what the assistant should read. A key never holds more than the admin who made it.
Step 1: create an admin API key
- In the admin panel, open Developer → API Keys and click New admin API key.
- Give it a name you will recognise, for example “Claude – reporting”.
- Pick a preset such as the read-only agent, or choose Custom and tick only the scopes the assistant needs. A key that connects an assistant cannot hold every scope you can grant, and Full access is not offered for it.
- Tick Allow this key to connect an AI assistant.
- Optional: Allow advanced API access lets the assistant read any admin endpoint your scopes allow, not only the built-in actions. Assistant rate limit is 240 requests a minute by default and is counted apart from the API rate limit.
- Save and copy the key. It is shown once; store it like a password.
Step 2: connect your assistant
The form shows the Server URL to copy. It is your own panel address followed by /api/v1/admin/mcp, for example:
https://up.your-network.com/api/v1/admin/mcp
Send the key as a bearer token: Authorization: Bearer <your key>. This is the admin address; the customer address ends in /api/v1/mcp and refuses an admin key.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http goadserver-admin https://up.your-network.com/api/v1/admin/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <your key>" - ChatPilot: Access → Connected systems → Add system → GoAdserver — admin, then enter your panel address and the key.
- Other clients: add a remote MCP server (HTTP) with the address above and the Authorization header.
What the assistant can look up
- Users, advertisers and publishers, and their balances
- Statistics, advertiser and publisher reports
- Campaigns and why one is or isn’t delivering; ad zones and their delivery; websites
- The ad validation queue
- Finance overview, invoices and accounting summary
- Suspicious users, conversions and the action log (who changed what)
- Settings (read only), bug reports, and the sales CRM: leads, companies, deals, tasks and contacts
It also comes with ready-made checks you can ask for by name: network health review, advertiser not spending, publisher revenue drop, validation queue summary, fraud sweep, margin review and who changed this.
What it can never do
- Change accounts, balances, campaigns, ads, rights or settings, approve ads, or impersonate a user. Advanced API access reads only.
- See administrators or the audit log, whoever holds the key.
- Go beyond the scopes on the key or the rights of the admin who made it. Narrow an admin’s rights and every key they made narrows with them at once.
The only changes it can make are records that are yours to keep anyway: filing a bug report, and in the sales CRM adding a lead or a note, setting a lead’s status and moving a deal — each only when the key has that write scope. Every call is recorded per key, and Revoke on the API Keys screen stops a key at once.
