A vignette shows a full-page ad when a visitor moves from one page of your site to the next. The visitor already chose to stay, so the ad interrupts nothing they wanted to do; closing it continues to the page they clicked.
Links that leave your site, open a new tab, jump within the page or start an email or a call never show it.
Click a link marked “shows the vignette”: a full-page ad opens first, and closing it takes you to the page you clicked. The links marked “never” behave like normal links.

Also try a Ctrl/⌘-click or a middle click on a green link: it opens in a new tab and no ad shows, because the visitor never left this page.

</script>On this page clickTags limits the ad to the demo article's links. On your site, leave it out: every link to your own pages then shows the vignette, within the frequency you set.
A vignette is a full-page ad zone with one switch: which links may show it. Everything else is the frequency you already know from full-page ads.

In every mode, a link that opens in a new tab (Ctrl/⌘-click or middle click), a jump within the same page, an email or phone link and a download never show the ad. The same settings are in the public API as fpa_settings.link_scope (internal), start_at, repeat_at and refreshtime.
