Short spoken spots before and during a podcast or web radio stream, with the advertiser's image next to the player.
This is a live audio zone on a demo account with 15 made-up advertisers. Press play on the episode below.
A short spoken spot plays before the episode and another after a minute of listening, in a bar under the player: the advertiser's image, the ad label, a countdown and a skip button after 5 seconds. The episode pauses for the ad and continues where it was.

</script>Apps and podcast hosts that insert ads themselves ask the same zone for a VAST 4 audio ad: the audio file, its length, a companion image, and trackers for the start, each quarter and the end of the spot.
Advertisers upload their spot (mp3, m4a, aac, ogg, opus or wav, 3 to 120 seconds) and add a destination URL and, if they like, a companion image. The ad server converts the spot to mp3.
Publishers create an audio zone, enter the CSS selector of their <audio> player and paste the zone code once. The impression counts when the spot starts. Listen-through (how many listeners reach a quarter, half, three quarters and the end) is recorded per ad.
Podcast apps use the zone's VAST URL instead of the script. The settings for TV and streaming players, such as ad pods, a break schedule and server-side ad insertion, work on audio zones too.
